Smoked Wax Melt Burner

Smoked Wax Melt Burner

£25.00Price

Crafted using the traditional method of the potters wheel, each burner is thrown by hand by creative M.V.Adams, using red stoneware clay in a small pottery studio in Lincoln, England. Red stoneware has a high percentage of metal inside the clay itself, resulting in darker hues of black and red creating more depth in each object. Complete with a smoked grey and white glaze, this truly beautiful, limited edition, limited-run piece has been designed specifically for Ginko & Rye's soy & rapeseed wax melts.

Each is handmade so there will be differences between those pictured and those received.

  • The Crafting Process by M.V.Adams

Each burner is carefully created to be both functional and beautiful. The nature of red stoneware allows for durability whilst offering a moody aesthetic.

Once ‘thrown’ they are set aside and carefully surveyed to ensure they are shaped during the optimum condition. Shaping includes trimming excess clay from the body. They are then finished with a stamp of approval by their maker.

Once the burner is dry, it's ready for its firing.

After 'throwing' and shaping, there is still a lengthy journey ahead of each piece. Once dried, the burners are bisque fired. A bisque firing allows all off the water to be removed, they become less fragile to handle and they’re ready to absorb glaze.

To highlight the natural beauty of the clay, each burner is encased by hand in a smoked grey and white glaze made from scratch in M.V.Adams's studio.

Seeing a sustainable, strong and beautifully-crafted  piece of handmade pottery emerge from a glaze firing is often the most exciting and rewarding stage as a maker. After hours of nurturing a pot into life its finally ready to be used and enjoyed. Of course not every pot in the kiln survives the intense making process but the best of each stage has been brought forward to create the unique burners for Ginko & Rye by M.V.Adams.
